Training programme for master volunteers held

Kakching, February 20 2025:
As part of the Government of India's commitment to building a drug-free nation, the District Administration Kakching in collaboration with the District Social Welfare Office, Kakching, organised a training program for master volunteers of the Kakching District today under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan (NMBA) at the DC Office Complex, Kakching.
The program aimed to equip master volunteers with the knowledge and skills needed to address substance abuse in the district.
The training programme was attended by SDO Waikhong, Anunay Anand (IAS), District Social Welfare Officer, Nikita Thangjam, Asian Youth Leader Colombo Plan, Nutan Nongthombam, Coordinator Healing Point IRCS, Salam Rameshore and Dr Takhellambam Jullon as resource person.
It may be mentioned that the District Social Welfare Office, Kakching, has been organising a series of awareness programs in various schools in the district to educate youth, women and children about the harmful effects of substance abuse, with a particular focus on higher education institutes, university campuses and schools.
