Thoubal, April 19 2026:
A sit-in protest was held at Andro Keithel today, demanding justice for the victims of the Tronglaobi incidents, where two siblings were killed in a bomb attack and three individuals were shot dead by CRPF personnel.
The protest demonstration was organised by All Andro Youth Clubs Organisation (AAYCO), All Andro Meira Paibi Association (AAMPA), Imphal East District United Clubs Organisation (IEDUCO) and Eastern Clubs' Development Organisation (ECDO) in association with All Manipur United Clubs' Organisation, Poirei Leimarol Meirapaibi Apunba Manipur (PLMPAM), Committee on Human Right (COHR), All Manipur Women's Voluntary Association (AMAWOVA) and Manipuri Students Federation (MSF).
Speaking to the media, the protesters contended that Kuki militants and their associates targeting both the Meeteis and the Tangkhul Nagas is part of their campaign to eliminate the indigenous people and disintegrate Manipur.
They urged the Government to take actions against the Kuki groups who terrorise innocent people.
During the protest, slogans such as "Long Live Manipur", "We Must Protect Our Land Ourselves", "Go Back Central Forces", and "We Condemn the Killings of Civilians" were raised.
One of the protesters stated that the Kuki militants are trying to ruin the future of the indigenous Meeteis and Tangkhul Nagas by keeping Manipur in a state of unrest.
She claimed that Central security forces support the Kuki militant groups under the Suspension of Operation (SoO) pact.
