Relief Committee JNIMS Hospital marks Silver Jubilee

The Relief Committee, JNIMS Hospital, observed its Silver Jubilee at the Lecture Hall of JNIMS Hospital, Porompat, today.
Former Minister Loitongbam Amujao, JNIMS Medical Superintendent Prof Ksh Lokeshwar, and Committee chairman Thoidingjam Bon graced the function as presidium members.
A souvenir was also released to mark the occasion.
Speakers including coordinator of Relief Committee Manipur IDP Yumnam Somorendra dwelt on the Committee's role during major crises- the 2001 anti-ceasefire extension movement, the 2004 protests after the Thangjam Manorama incident under AFSPA, the 2015 ILP movement following Sapam Robinhood's death, and the ongoing unrest since May 3, 2023.Thoidingjam Bon said the Committee was formed in 2001 to treat injured protesters during the ceasefire agitation, extending aid to 932 persons with JNIMS authorities and public support.
It later assisted 439 injured in the 2004 AFSPA protests and 306 during the 2015 ILP movement.
Since May 3, 2023, the Committee has provided medical help to 2,463 injured persons.
He noted that patients are grouped into three categories - relief camp inmates, protest-related injured, and village defence volunteers.
The committee also facilitates Government aid for bereaved families and continues treatment under CMHT cards, marking 25 years of service with public support.
