Imphal, June 17 2025: The Centre for Development Initiatives (CDI) Imphal observed International Domestic Workers' Day as a part of annual Domestic Workers' Week 2025 at the Josephine Salvi hall at Sangakpham, Imphal yesterday.

The celebration was held under the theme "Recognizing care, advancing dignity and rights for domestic workers".

The program was led by the domestic workers of Imphal City.

Altogether, 40 domestic workers participated in the event.

The celebration kicked off with warm words of welcome by CDI staff who highlighted the essential contribution domestic workers make in maintaining households and nurturing families.

During the celebration programme, the leaders of the domestic workers also shared their problems and challenges they face daily in their workplaces.

The program concluded with a pledge where the domestic workers vowed to organise, register and demand dignity and rights.
