Kangpokpi, June 17 2024:
The Kuki Revolutionary Army-Unification (KRA-U), an entity of the Suspension of Operations under the umbrella of the Kuki National Organisation, rejoined its mother organization, KRA-U, under the United People's Front (UPF).
Reportedly, KRA-U/KNO is a factional group of KRA-U/UPF, established in 2012, that became part of the KNO armed wing and stayed at T Gamnom designated camp along with KRA and KLO/KLA under KNO 7th Battalion after signing the SoO agreement with the Government.
The former chief of KRA-U/KNO, Lamkhopao alias Papao Chongloi, who is now the vice president of KRA-U/UPF following a merger with the mother organization, explained that there were disagreements with the KRA/KNO on various issues and despite efforts to resolve these differences, the issues remained unresolved, posing a significant threat to the organization's survival and growth alongside the KRA.
As a result of these internal conflicts and unresolved issues, KRA-U decided to sever ties with KRA/KNO on December 20, 2023 and rejoined their mother organization, KRA-U/UPF.
Emphasizing that the decision to rejoin its mother organisation was aimed at promoting the healthy growth of the organization and fostering cooperation between the Government and the group, the KRA-U/ UPF vice president Papao Chongloi urged the Governments to acknowledge their merger with its mother organization.
