MCPCR to investigate Jiribam killings during May visit

Jiribam, December 16 2024:
On a five day visit, a team constituting of 3 members led by Chairperson, Keisham Pradipkumar of Manipur Commission for Protection of Child Rights, arrived in Jiribam on Sunday.
The team after reaching Jiribam yesterday, met with the staff of DC office Jiribam, CDPO and officials of the Social Welfare Department.
Today on the second day of the visit, the team met the IDPs of Jiribam Higher Secondary School and Bidyanagar and later met with the CSOs, Students' Bodies, Meira Pabis, IDPs, ASHA Workers, CWC, JJB, DSWO and the victim families at DC Office, Conference hall.
The team also visited District Hospital Jiribam.
Speaking to the media persons, MCPCR Chairperson, Keisham Pradipkumar stated that MCPCR team constituting of 3 members led by Chairperson is visiting Jiribam to investigate on the recent gruesome killing of civilians including children in Jiribam, to deliver justice for the victims and to monitor health, security and education for children.
He continued that camp sitting will be held for two days on December 17 and 18 with the civil organisation, officials of Government Departments and members of child welfare committee and appealed to the public of Jiribam to provide input and suggestions during the camp sitting programme.
