Imphal, August 16 2025: Manipur Legislative Assembly Speaker Th Satyabrata has mourned the demise of La Ganesan, former Governor of Manipur and sitting Governor of Nagaland.

La Ganesan died on August 15, 2025 at the age of 80 .

To the people of Manipur, he was not merely a constitutional head but a pillar of empathy and grace, Satyabrata said in a press release.

Though his final chapter was written in Nagaland, his bond with Manipur remained unbroken.

His presence here was marked by humility and his departure leaves behind a silence that echoes with gratitude and sorrow, the Speaker said.

He also extended deepest condolences to the family of La Ganesan and loved ones.
