District Administrations of Jiribam and Kangpokpi review preparations for 77th Republic Day

In preparation for the 77th Republic Day Celebration, the District Administrations of Jiribam and Kangpokpi held separate coordinations meetings on Thursday to review arrangements and ensure smooth conduct of the national event.
In Jiribam, a preparatory meeting for the 77th Republic Day Celebration, 2026, was held at the Conference Hall of the Deputy Commissioner's Office, Jiribam.
The meeting was chaired by Deputy Commissioner Jiribam, Krishna Kumar, who reviewed the upcoming celebrations and various schemes, programs and projects implemented by different line departments in the district.
Emphasising the importance of coordination and synchronisation among departments, the DC stressed that collective efforts were essential for the grand success of the Republic Day function scheduled to be held at the Jiribam Hr Secondary Ground.
He discussed in detail the roles and responsibilities of each department, including participation of contingents, display of tableaux and cultural items, construction of gates and other arrangements.
Seating arrangements for VIPs and the general public, medical emergency services and refreshment facilities were also reviewed.
He further announced that a cleanliness drive would be conducted on January 19 at Jiribam Hr Secondary Ground and urged all DLOs and their staff to actively participate.
Departments were also instructed to erect banners highlighting their achievements and to distribute items under various schemes to beneficiaries on Republic Day.
On the sideline of the meeting, the District Administration, Jiribam warmly felicitated Jitendra Prasad Keer, a Manipur Cadre IPS Officer, upon his joining the Jiribam District Police on a 6-month probation.
Meanwhile, in Kangpokpi, a coordination meeting in connection with the 77th Republic Day Celebration was chaired by Deputy Commissioner Kangpokpi, Mahesh Chaudhari, at the DC Conference Hall.
The meeting focused on finalising preparations for the celebration to be held at Brigadier Thomas Ground.
The DC urged all districtlevel officers to extend maximum cooperation and work in coordination to ensure the success of the celebration.
The meeting discussed planning strategies and task allocation to concerned departments, highlighting the importance of unity, discipline and patriotism in organising the national event.
