KDS celebrates 5th foundation day

The Khangabok Development Society (KDS) celebrated its 5 th foundation day today with a photo exhibition themed on Ekop Pat at the Khangabok Part II Community Community Hall, Thoubal district.
As part of the programme, Ekop Sheitha Eshei was also released.
The song was written by Lenin Khumancha, composed by Thangjam Tomba and sung by Pinky Saikhom.
The event was attended by Range Officer of Kakching, Huidrom Sunder; KDS president Thokchom Bishworjit; principal of KM Blooming Hr Sec School, Dr Kh Romenkumar Mangang; and Smart Security Service secretary, Pratap Laimujam as presidium members.
Speaking at the occasion, Range Officer Huidrom Sundar expressed happiness over the active participation of youths in campaigns to protect wildlife and address the growing loss of ecological balance in the State.
SSS secretary Pratap Laimujam highlighted the significant ecological challenges faced by Loktak Lake and Ekop Pat, stating that KDS's efforts, including the production of "Ekop Sheitha Eshei" and the organisation of the photo exhibition, were timely initiatives.
He also expressed his desire to construct a memorial structure at Ekop Pat highlighting the historic "Khamba na Kao Phaba" story.
Dr Kh Romenkumar lauded KDS for its immense contribution over the past five years and assured his support in spreading conservation awareness related to Eko Pat.
As part of the celebration, Manipur State Kala Academy Award (Fine Arts) 2024 recipient Khundongbam Sadananda was also honoured.
