6th Rongmei Freshers' Meet / Cultural Day

Imphal, November 13 2025: The 6th Rongmei Freshers' Meet cum Cultural Day 2025 Delhi NCR was held on November 8, 2025 at Satyawati College, Arya Bhatt, Enclave, Sawan Park, Ashok Vihar, New Delhi, bringing together Rongmei freshers, community members, and distinguished guests for an inspiring day themed "Voices For Tomorrow".

Organised by Rongmei Phwam Delhi (RPD), Rongmei Chamnac Phwam Delhi (RCPD) and Rongmei Welfare Gurugram Unit (RWGU), the event aimed to promote cultural pride, unity, and achievement within the community.

According to a joint statement issued by RPD and RCPD, the event was convened by Dr Lucas L Kamsuan (chairman, RPD) and coordinated by Mathiuduan Kahmei (president, RCPD), with Gaisuamrei Panmel and Leo Dangmei serving as masters of ceremony.

Rev Dr Kamthui Panmei, advisor, RPD also attended the event as a resource person.

The event began with a traditional "Huay Kauhmei" performed by the programme committee, followed by a rich array of cultural activities, including "Mai-Lapmei" by Pouning Panmei and friends, Rongmei folk songs, cultural dance by Rongmei Cultural Dance Troupe Delhi NCR and a showcase of Rongmei traditional attire where awards were presented for the best male and female outfits in adults and children's categories.

The welcome address was delivered by Dr Lucas L Kamsuan, while Neila Mary Alex spoke on health awareness and Sinchuilung Gangmei shared academy guidance.

The event witnessed the meticulous selection of Mr and Miss Freshers through a panel of esteemed judges consisting of Dr Aphun Kamei, Gainilung Panmei, Lungaithui Kamei, Duanthaoliu Panmei and Gaithoiliu Kahmei.

In a spirited competition, Kalangaipou Gangmei was honored with the title of Mr.Freshers, while Lily Gonmei was crowned Ms.Freshers of the 6th Rongmei Freshers' Meet cum Cultural Day 2025 .

Besides, the Rongmei Achievers Award 2025 was presented to outstanding individuals from the Rongmei community for their exceptional contributions across various fields.

The recipients of the award are- Dingogailiu R Panmei, Ngamgupou Thaimei, Jemima G kamsuan, S P Sangaimei, Giangchuilung Pamei, Ramthailiu, Deborah Kamei, Rev Dr Thomas Kahmei, Katalan Rongmei, Gaithaulung Pamei, Pouthuirung Thaimei, Kapangai Kamei, Kakingai Gangmei, Karim Kamel, Jangdim Gondaimei, Dr Alana Golmei, Radamchui Kamei and Dr L Jessica Gangmei.

A major highlight of the day was the captivating musical performances by Gaicham Kamel, Albert Riamei, Hosea Kamei, Niamthuailiu Rongmei and Kajingam Gangmei.

The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks proposed by programme secretary Mathiuduan Kahmei and a 'Pazeihmei' led by RPD advisor Dimkulung Pamei.
