Pherzawl, August 13 2026:
The Zonal Education Office (ZEO), Pherzawl, has organised a series of educational, sports and environmental activities across the district to promote experiential learning, inclusivity and creativity among students.
As part of the initiatives, an exposure visit was organised for eight students to Hrangsing Chawlbuk at Parbung, with students from Pherzawl, Bukpi and Tinsuong schools participating.
The visit provided the students with an opportunity to gain practical experiences and broaden their learning beyond the conventional classroom setting.
A sports programme for Children with Special Needs was also conducted at Pherzawl High School.
The participating students took part in various sporting activities and were encouraged with the distribution of gifts.
In an effort to strengthen inclusive education, the ZEO also conducted a household survey to identify out-of-school children with special needs.
Two students were identified during the survey for further follow-up and support, reflecting efforts to ensure that children requiring additional assistance are not left outside the education system.
Meanwhile, a district-level Youth & Eco programme was organised with participation from students of Pherzawl, Parbung and Bukpi.
Students showcased their creativity and awareness through debate, painting and exhibition competitions based on environmental and social issues.
Prizes for the three competitions will be distributed by the Deputy Commissioner, Pherzawl, on Independence Day.
