Coherence stressed for effective agitation

Imphal, June 13 2025: While pledging support for public protests and agitations, clubs and Meira Paibi groups of Kakwa Nameirakpam Leikai have urged organisations planning demonstrations to apprise and consult them on how to ensure the success of the agitation in their area.

In a joint release, Divine Club, Kakwa Nameirakpam Leikai and Apunba Meira Paibi Lup, Kakwa Makha Nameirakpam Leikai said clubs, meira paibi and Village Protection Force (VPF), Nameirakpam Leikai Thongju held a meeting on June 11 to deliberate on frequent commotions and hooliganism in Nameirakpam Leikai involving people from other areas under the influence of abusive substances as and when bandh and general strikes are called by organisations.

The release recalled incidents of some protestors taking undue advantage of the agitation and pelting stones at the Singjamei police station, thereby leaving a misleading impression of the locality.

As a result, innocent people bore the brunt of police action, leading others to perceive the area as irrational and unreasonable.

As such, the meeting resolved that they will support public protest and agitations called by organisations under the condition that the agitation callers contact them to discuss on how to organise the protest successfully in the locality, it added.
