House okays 7 Demands for Grants

Imphal, August 12 2024: The State Assembly today passed seven Demands for Grants in the absence of Opposition Members and any cut motion.

The Demands for Grants passed today were Demand No 10-Education (Rs 3151,89,79,000), Demand No 15-CAF&PD (Rs 218,26,18,000), Demand No 38-Panchayat (Rs 117,24,70,000, Demand No 40-Water Resources (Rs 652,70,41,000), Demand No 43-Horticulture & Soil Conservation (Rs 124,49,57,000), Demand No 46-Science & Technology (Rs 6,04,52,000) and Demand No 49-Economics & Statistics (Rs 16,63,50,000) .

The State Assembly also passed two Bills viz; Manipur Goods and Services Tax (Seventh Amendment) Bill 2024 and the National Law University Manipur Bill 2024 .

Earlier, CM N Biren who is also in charge of Finance Department tabled four reports/papers in the State Assembly.

The reports tabled by the CM included Medium Term Fiscal Policy Statement, Fiscal Policy Strategy Statement and Macro Economic Framework States and Disclosures 2024-25, Gender Budget Statement 2024-25 and State Finances Audit report of the CAG for the year ended March 31, 2023 and Report on Performance Audit of Development and Promotion of Horticulture for the year ended March 31, 2020 .
