Imphal, September 11 2025:
Recalling how Prime Minister Narendra Modi maintained a deafening silence for the past two years and a half when Manipur was literally burning, the Poirei Leimarol Meira Paibi Apunba Manipur has categorically stated that they cannot welcome the upcoming visit of Narendra Modi to the State on September 13 .
Speaking to media persons at their Khoyathong office today, Poirei Leimarol Meira Paibi Apunba Manipur general secretary Thongam Apabi Leima said that a meeting of the Working Group of Meira Paibi Movement was held today on the Prime Minister's scheduled visit to the State.
She said that different communities were living together in peace and harmony before a pre-planned aggression was launched on May 3, 2023 under the influence of certain external forces.
The pre-planned aggression launched with the primary objective of dismembering Manipur resulted in widespread violence, large-scale killings and displacement.
A large number of people are still living in relief camps, Apabi said.
She also pointed out that National Highways are still inaccessible to Meiteis.
Even as all sections of people were suffering untold misery for over two years, Prime Minister Narendra Modi did not bother to say a single word, she pointed out.
The Working Group of the Meira Paibi Movement cannot help question the motive and agenda of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's sudden change of mind and his decision to visit Manipur, she said.
Saying that they strongly condemn the scheduled visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, she asserted that they would raise certain slogans like "Go back Modi, the vulture", Self determination is our birthright", "Armed Forces Special Powers Act is a colonial law", "Don't obliterate Manipur", "Stop Indian Divide and Rule Policy" .
