Imphal, August 11 2026:
Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand met a delegation of polo players from the Manipur Horse Riding and Polo Association (MHRPA), led by Chairman, Technical Committee, N Bedajit, at the CM Secretariat today.
In a post on the social media the Chief Minister said, 'Discussed preparations for the 16th Manipur International Polo Tournament and the welfare of our polo players.

'The indigenous Manipuri Pony is a proud symbol of our heritage and identity.
Our Government remains committed to protecting its natural grazing grounds, preventing illegal theft and slaughter, and promoting Sagol Kangjei (Manipuri Polo)' .
The Chief Minister further said 'Preserving our heritage, supporting our players and carrying Manipur's proud polo legacy forward remains our commitment.' .
