Residents condemn bomb attack

Imphal, August 11 2024: Residents of Thangmeiband Kabow Leikai have strongly condemned the bomb attack at the residence of Diabetes Hospital Porompat's managing director Dr Maibam Dhanabir in Thangmeiband Kabow Leikai Nongchup on August 9 .

Addressing a press conference today at Manipur Press Club, Dr M Dhanabir said that he has been serving the public for many years providing vital medical care to many diabetic patients from across the State.

He lamented that despite his efforts to serve the people of Manipur, the frequent threat, harassment and bomb attack at the hospital and his home by unknown miscreants has caused fear psychosis among his family members and the hospital staff.

"Even after repeated appeals to the authorities concerned regarding the constant threat from unknown miscreants, no actions have been taken up so far", he added.

Dr M Dhanabir further urged all concerned to not repeat such acts in the future and to solve any issue through negotiation.

Denouncing the bomb attack, Kabow Leikai Nongchup Welfare Association secretary Phurailatpam Inaocha said that the unfortunate incident has created more tension among the public who are already reeling due to the ongoing conflict.
