Uhkrul, May 10: Due to artificial scarcity of Kerosene oil and erratic power supply in Ukhrul Dist' the lone Information centre, Community Information Centre (CIC) run into deep trouble water.

The CIC, Ukhrul Operator, Soya Shingnaisui informed that the computer class is going on in full swing from 10 am to 6 pm everyday.

However, due to lack of power and Kerosene Oil most of the practical classes could not be conducted.

He also informed that in this regard a memorandum forwarding was given to FCS Department by Pankaj Agrawara, Joint Secretary, Department of Information Technology, Government of India directing all the State Govts where CIC are operated to issue one barrel of K.Oil every month Vide order No.9(12) 2004-CIC.However, the Ukhrul FCS Dept has not paid any attention to this, despite the paramount importance of the services of CIC to the public.

With no other option left in hand the operator appeal to the higher authority of the FCS Department to do the needful in considering the seriousness of the problem.

Medical camp: A one day Medical Treatment cum free distribution of medicine was held at Phalee village on the western part of the District which is 20 Kms away from the Dist Hqs on 6th May 2007.The Medical camp was jointly organized by Operation Blessing India (OBI) and Comprehensive Health Services and Research Centre (CHSRC), Ukhrul.

Over hundreds of patients from in and around the around turned up to avail the medical treatment during the camp.

Along with the health check up, medicines were also distributed free of cost to the patients.

Speaking at the occasion, Pastor of the Phalee Baptist Church said that the conduct of the free medical camp was first of its kind in the area.

The health related problems of the area are rarely acknowledge by the Govt, he lamented.

Expressing gratification and appreciation for the good Samaritan service extended to the poor villagers under the operation Blessing India (OBI) Ngarumphung Baptist Church and its members of Phalee village conveyed their deepest satisfaction and appreciation to Dr.Nelson Vashum M.D., Director, CHSRC and it members.
