Workshop on "National Education Policy 2020 : Prospects and Way Forward" held

Imphal, February 09 2025: A 1-Day Workshop on "National Education Policy 2020: Prospects and Way Forward" was organised by Central Agricultural University, Imphal at the University Headquarters, Lamphelpat today.

The event was graced by dignitaries, including D Ramakhrishna Rao, National President, Vidya Bharti Akhil Bhartiya Shiksha Sansthan, New Delhi; Dr Anupam Mishra, Vice Chancellor, CAU, Imphal; Prof Indira Sarangthem, DI and Dean; Dr LM Gamayak.

Director of Research; Dr Pawan Tiwari, Organising Secretary, Vidya Bharti North East Region, Guwahati; Dr Kishorjit Nongmeikapam, IIIT Manipur, Prof Rajmani Singha, Director, IQAC, Manipur University; and Dr Manglem Singh, NIT Manipur.

Speaking on the occasion, D Ramakhrishna Rao highlighted the past and present policies of education adopted by the Government of India.

Talking on the effective implementation of NEP 2020, he raised the need to empower the teachers for they are the frontline implementers of educational reforms.

He added that the teachers are the direct link to attain the goals of NEP 2020.Dr Anupam Mishra discussed the significance of pursuing the vision of NEP 2020 after implementation and further recommended establishing an institutional framework for the successful implementation of NEP 2020.Dr Pawan Tiwari emphasized on including the traditional knowledge system in the curriculum of the students.

Dr Kishorjit Nongmeikapam spoke on integration of Artificial Intelligence into the education system to improve the teaching learning process.

Prof Rajmani Singha elaborated on the holistic approach of NEP 2020 that promotes all round personal development of the students.

Prof Indira Sarangthem gave insights on the importance of NEP 2020 and shared the works carried out by the University in alignment to NEP 2020.The workshop concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Prof LK Mishra.
