Kakching torch rally calls for peace

Kakching, July 07 2024: Around two thousand womenfolk ventured out of their homes to stage a torch rally at Kakching Keithel tonight calling for the return of peace in Manipur.

The torch rally was organised by the All Kakching Clubs Co-ordinating Committee (AKCCC) and the rally goers initially gathered at Ibudhou Naohal-lai Laibung, Kakching Keithel.

The protestors raised many slogans including "Bring peace in Manipur", "Territorial integrity of Manipur cannot be compromised", "Enforce NRC in Manipur", "Root out Kuki narco-terrorists" and "Long live Manipur" among others.

The demonstrators also formed a human chain on either side of the road stretching around 1 km with torches/candles in their hands.
