Teachers' Day widely celebrated across State

Teachers' Day was widely celebrated with enthusiasm across the State today wherein fitting tributes were paid to the teachers for their significant contributions in imparting knowledge and providing guidance towards the students.
The celebrations marked by cultural and musical presentations highlighted the pivotal role of teachers in shaping the lives of the students and the society at large.
Kakching
Joining in the celebration of Teachers' Day, All Kakching Arangpham Association observed the day at the Library and Information Centre at Kakching Phousupat Leikai today.
The main highlight of the observation included paying floral tributes and homage to the- departed mentors of the association and seeking blessings from the present mentors of the association by presenting gifts.
The event was graced by Secretary YAS, MI&CADA, Arts & Culture Naorem Praveen, president All Kakching Association Moirangthem Romeo (Inaobi) and social worker Naorem Nopur as the presidium members.
Speaking on the occasion, Naorem Praveen stressed on the importance of nurturing various life skills apart from the academic knowledge for the successful progress of an individual.
Thoubal
Teachers Day cum Cultural and Literary Meet was held today at A G Memorial Academy in Thoubal district today.
Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader Manipur and Wangkhem Assembly Constituency MLA Keisham Meghachandra; A G Memorial Academy Principal cum managing director Thiyam Master Singh and ZEO Zone-III Thoubal DI of School Thoudam Brojen Singh graced as the presidium members among others.
As a part of the celebration, Keisham Meghachandra led in paying floral tributes to the portrait of Dr Radhakrishnan and Chingshubam Akaba.
Presentation of gifts and awards to the teachers and students who have achieved extraordinary feats were the highlight of today's event.
Meanwhile, a tree plantation drive was held on the road sides of Charangpat Mamang Leikai and Maning Leikai under Wangkhem Assembly constituency on the occasion of Teachers' Day and in connection with the birthday of Wangkhem Youth Congress Committee vice-president Raj Kumar Khundrakpam.
The plantation drive was held under the banner Plant tree Save Life, Green today Better Tomorrow, Together for a greener future.
Assam Rifles
Commemorating the revered occasion of Teachers' Day, Assam Rifles organised and participated in a series of vibrant Teachers' Day celebrations across educational institutions in Chandel, Imphal West, Kakching and Ukhrul districts of the State on September 4 and 5 .
A press note by the Assam Rifles said that the observance commenced on September 4 at St Joseph's High School in Chandel district, where Assam Rifles joined hands with the school fraternity to honour educators.
The event saw enthusiastic participation from students and teachers.
On September 5, Assam Rifles Public School (ARPS) New Keithelmanbi in Imphal West district hosted celebrations bringing together students, teaching and nonteaching staff, and Assam Rifles personnel alongside families.
The event began with ceremonial lamp lighting and floral tributes to Dr S Radhakrishnan, followed by vibrant cultural performances, felicitation of staff and the National Anthem.
Teachers Day was also celebrated at ARPS Shangshak in Ukhrul district, ARPS Kakching in Kakching district and Mission Blind School, Heikakpokpi in Chandel district.
The events featured musical acts, traditional Manipuri dance performances and teacher felicitations.
At Mission Blind School, Heikakpokpi, Assam Rifles felicitated educators with gift items and distributed sweets among students, bringing joy and recognition to the special institution.
