Thoubal, June 05 2025: In a tragic and shocking incident, three kids including a brother and a sister have drowned in a pond.

S Semlemthang Kom (9) s/o S Khupneithang, his younger sister S Jenia (5) and their cousin S Moshimson Kom (5), all from Mantak Khunou fell into a pond and drowned at around 10 am today.

The pond where the three kids died is located at a place earlier occupied by SSB but abandoned these days.

The pond is located at Kakching Wairi Panjao Pallum but it is also very close to Kakching Mantak Khunou.

As the kids fell into the pond, one of them shouted for help.

People who were working in the nearby area immediately rushed in and pulled out all the three kids.

The kids were then taken to Jivan Hospital but they could not be saved.

The families have claimed the dead bodies and performed the last rites today itself.
