Thoubal celebrates Beti Bachao Beti Padhao anniversary with inspirational week

Thoubal, March 04 2025: The District Programme Officer (DPO), ICDS, Cell, Thoubal as part of the 10th anniversary celebration of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao scheme today held motivational and inspirational week at Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya, Ukhongsang, Thoubal.

During the programme, children interacted with the officials from various departments.

As part of the program, trees were planted around the campus of the School and sanitary pad vending machines were also distributed.

The event was attended by Dr Rajkumari Lilapati Devi, HOD, Department of Mass Communication Manipur University, Arambam Anilkumar ZEO Thoubal, Dr Y Nokul CMO Thoubal, N Parango DPO, ICDS Cell, Thoubal; Th Romita CDPO, Dr A Satyapati W/SI and Ch Basanta DPM as presidium members.

Awareness was also given regarding the BBBP scheme by the officials of the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) Cell, Thoubal.

The children were informed that the scheme "Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao" which means 'save the girl child, educate the girl child' aims to educate citizens against gender bias and improve the efficacy of welfare services for girls and women.

Later, students visited the women police station Thoubal to give knowledge about the functioning of the women police.
