House gutted in Senapati

Senapati, January 03 2026:
In an unfortunate event, a residential house in Vakho village, Senapati burnt down to ashes around 7 pm on January 1, 2026 .
The house belonged to one D Sahriini and the entire family was away for New Year feast cum social gathering at Poumai Baptist Church, Vakho campus when the blaze engulfed their home.
Although the actual cause of the "accidental fire" could not be ascertained, many have assumed that the fire might have originated from the kitchen hearth that was not put out properly.
Properties worth a minimum of Rs 35 lakhs including dresses, clothes, utensils, furniture and gadgets inside the house were destroyed in the fire.
Documents and Rs 50,000 in cash also went up in smoke in the blaze.
In view of this disaster, the Vakho Village Authority Council and the victims' family have appealed to the concerned Government authorities to initiate immediate action so as to rehabilitate and assist the poor victims at the earliest.
Moreover, free will donation from any individual(s) or group is highly encouraged, the villagers mentioned.
