Campus awareness programme on DAJA held at Tamenglong

Tamenglong, July 02 2025:
In a significant initiative to promote awareness regarding the Dharti Aaba Janbhagidari Abhiyan (DAJA), the Tamenglong District Administration, in collaboration with Tamenglong College, organized a one-day campus awareness program at Tamenglong College on Tuesday.
The event aimed to enlighten students and the local community about various Government schemes available for tribal populations.
The program commenced with a warm welcome address by Dr Kinthuijinang Maremmei, Principal of Tamenglong College.
Following this, the atmosphere was filled with cultural vibrancy as students performed traditional dances, showcasing the rich heritage of the region.
Kenny Gaikhonlung Gangmei, Legal Officer of TA & Hills, Government of Manipur, introduced the objectives of DAJA, he said among other districts his team visited, Tamenglong is the best and turns out are highest.
The event was further enlivened by melodious performances from renowned artists, including Padmashree Guru Reuben Mashangva, James Riamei, and Achatnis Dichongta, whose songs resonated with the audience.
Deputy Commissioner of Tamenglong, Dr L Angshim Dangshawa, IAS, delivered an inspiring address, motivating attendees to take actionable steps towards improving their community.
He shared relatable examples and quotes, urging the gathering to move beyond complaints and focus on self-initiative.
The program also featured a talk by former Miss Manipur 2018, who serves as an ambassador and hostess for DAJGUA Manipur.
Chunglenmang Kipgen, MCS, Additional District Magistrate led the gathering in reciting a DAJA pledge, reinforcing the shared responsibility towards community development The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Kachamthai Faiga Gangmei, MCS, CEO of the Autonomous District Council Tamenglong, who expressed gratitude to all participants and organizers for their contributions to making the program a success.
