Heirok Pradhan clarifies

Imphal, June 01: On the news report that a leech was found in the tap water supplied by Heirok water supply plant, the Gram Panchayat of Heirok Part II has clarified that the leech was not from the water reservoir being used by the water supply plant.

A press release issued by the Pradhan of Heirok GP said that unauthorised connections and making holes in the main pipe line led to inflow of dirty water into the main pipe line.

It was from this dirty water that the leech found its way to the tap water.

The SO/Mohori of the water supply plant assured that all unauthorised connections will be removed and all the holes will be fitted with taps, conveyed the release.

It further appealed to all the people of Heirok not to make unauthorised connections from the main pipe line.
