DG Health Services unveils Centre of Excellence for Rare Diseases at RIMS

Prof Atul Goel, Director General of Health Services (DGHS), Government of India, oji Saturday unveiled the Centre of Excellence for Rare Diseases at Regional Institute of Medical Sciences, Imphal.
The DGHS also inspected the RIMS Hospital, Imphal and interacted with the Residents.
According to a release issued by RIMS, the unveiling of the Centre of Excellence for Rare Diseases will enhance specialized healthcare services and research initiatives at RIMS, further solidifying its position as a premier medical institution in the region.
Prof Goel held an interactive session with the Heads of Departments (HoDs) at Sushruta Hall, RIMS, Imphal, focused on advancing medical education, addressing key challenges in healthcare delivery, and strategizing for future improvements in patient care and academic excellence.
The interaction provided an opportunity for senior faculty members to share insights and recommendations for further elevating RIMS as a Centre of Medical Innovation and excellence.
Prof G Sunil Kumar Sharma, Director, RIMS, Imphal, expressed gratitude for Prof Goel's'visit, stating that his insights and support will play a crucial role in furthering the institution's mission to provide high-quality healthcare and medical training.
The DGHS's visit concluded with an assurance of continued support from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, in strengthening RIMS' infrastructure and healthcare services for the benefit of the people of Manipur and the Northeast region.
