Imphal, May 31 2010: The Nupilal and Khongjom War Memorial Society today appealed the underground groups to stop their activities against the people like extortion, kidnapping for ransom and attacking to the houses considering the prevailing fragile situation of the state and extend cooperation when the territorial integrity is at stake.

Speaking to reporters at a press briefing at Nupilal Memorial complex, secretary of the society, Yumnam Indrani also strongly condemned when three MPs from Manipur in the Parliament, Dr T Meinya, Thangso Baite and Rishang Keishing remaining as silent spectators even though the state is boil.

Due to the imposition of economic blockade on the national highways passing through the state for prolong period of time, people are at the limits of their woes.

On the other hand, blockades supporters are sending out free hand in torching and pushing down of vehicles on the highways.

Not only in the state but supporters of the rebel group had ransacked Mainpur Bhavan in New Delhi apart from openly challenging the people of the state.

Despite all this, the three MPs are remaining silent without saying any words at the Centre even though they are acting against the law challenging the right to life of the people of the state.

'This is unfortunate thing," she lamented.

They can also press the Centre for opening the two national highways, NH-53 and 39, the lifeline of the people of the state.

Indrani while lauding the bold decision of the government barring NSCN (IM) general secretary, Th Muivah and encouraged the efforts of the government taking full initiative procuring essential commodities in the state taking all risk when the Centre failed to intervene in safe passage of goods ferry trucks.

She on behalf of the society appealed MLAs and ministers of the ruling SPF government blaming and criticizing each others keeping in mind the issue ahead of the state.
