Kakching, July 29 2024:
Students of Kakching Higher Secondary School have launched an indefinite class boycott agitation against the Government's failure to address the issue of shortage of teachers in the school.
The students launched the indefinite class boycott agitation in collaboration with All Kha-Kangle Students Union (AK-KSU).
It may be noted that the students of the school and AK-KSU have demanded the appointment of adequate teachers in the school by July 27 and warned of intense agitation if the demand is not fulfilled.
Speaking in connection with the class boycott stir, Class 11 Commerce Class Monitor Salam Sonia highlighted that the school is struggling due to shortage of adequate teachers for subjects such as Physics, History, Education, Economics, Geography, Commerce, Manipuri and English.
The students have urged the Government and relevant authorities to fulfil their demands by appointing the required teachers in the school, however the same has not been materialised which is really unfortunate, she said.
She went on to state that the students have been compelled to launch the class boycott stir to urge the authorities concerned to pay heed to their demands.
AK-KSU general secretary Ksh National also stated that the school is grappling with other issues such as lack of infrastructure and other amenities apart from shortage of teachers posing serious challenges in the efficient functioning of the school.
In view of the inconveniences faced by the students who are longing for a peaceful and unhindered academic atmosphere in the school, he urged the authorities to look into the matter and expedite measures to resolve the same in the larger interest of the students.
