Imphal, January 29, 2012:
Election agent of INC candidate has expressed apprehension over possible connivance between MSCP and Presiding Officers in some polling stations under 6-Keirao Assembly Constituency during the election to the 10th Manipur Legislative Assembly which was conducted yesterday.
Talking to mediapersons at the quarters of Minister Md Allaudin Khan at Babupara here today, Election Agent of INC Wahidur Rahman asserted during the election yesterday, Inner Agents of INC candidate Md Allaudin were not only prevented from entering inside the polling booth by workers of MSCP at polling stations 6/1, 6/2, 6/3, 6/4 and 6/5 but the Presiding Officer deployed on election duty in polling station 6/3 turned out to be one Waikhom Mera who is a local resident.
Questioning how a local resident could be deployed as the Presiding Officer, Wahidur further asserted that record of high poll percentage in the said five polling stations despite prevention of Inner Agents of INC from entering the polling booth has raised strong suspicion of foul play in connivance between the Presiding Officer and MSCP.
Wahidur informed that a complaint would be lodged with the Election Commission of India in this regard to press for re-polling in the five polling stations.
