Thoubal, October 28 2024: The Food Safety Administration (FSA), Thoubal has instructed all Food Business Operators (FBOs) in the district to adhere to the provisions under the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006 and FSS Rules and Regulations 2011 to ensure availability of safe and wholesome food in connection with upcoming festivals of Diwali and Ningol Chakkouba.

The circular issued by Y Satyajeet Singh, Designated Officer, FSA, Thoubal has further instructed all FBOs to not sell, store or distribute any prohibited articles of food such as tobacco containing nicotine and other related products as previously instructed by a recent gazette notification issued on October 18 .

The notification added that any FBOs found violating and acting in contravention to the provisions under the Act will be dealt with in accordance with the food law.

It further said that Food Safety Officers will carry out special drives at any time at the premises of FBOs and called for their cooperation.
