Foundation Day celebrated

United People's Front (UPF), Manipur, celebrated its 26th Foundation Day at Manipur Press Club, Majorkhul today.
It was attended by UPF Manipur president, Nongthombam Rupachandra, NIPCO president, Oinam Premjit; Mapi Council president, KC Romeo; CADA president, Hijam Priyokumar and AMPFA president, Konthoujam Thoiba Meetei as presidium members.
Speaking on the occasion, Nongthombam Rupachandra lamented that the ongoing conflict which began on May 3, 2024, has led to irreparable loss of precious lives, destroyed many houses/ properties and left thousands of people displaced.
He urged the Government to take immediate action to end the conflict and resettle the displaced people at their original places.
Meanwhile, the Union of Social Upliftment (USU) has conferred the prestigious Moirganthem Ningthou Ningsing Mana 2024 to Dr Waikhom Gojen of Sekta Mayai Leikai for his contributions in the field of art & culture.
Additionally, awards were presented to meritorious students from the areas under the jurisdiction of USU who secured position/ rank in Class X and XII examinations conducted in 2023 & 2024 by BOSEM, COHSEM and CBSE.
The awards were presented today during the 42nd Foundation Day celebration of USU held at its office premises in Khurai Lamlong Keithel, Imphal.
The function was graced by USU president Laishram Sanajaoba Meetei and ex-president Ningombam Ibohal as presidium members.
