Manipur's 1st Aadhar Linked Birth Registration introduced in Thoubal

Thoubal, January 28 2025: For the first time in Manipur, Chief Registrar of Births and Deaths and Director of Health Services, Manipur Dr Chambo Golmei launched the State's first Aadhar Linked Birth Registration (ALBR) for children aged 0-5 years at the District Hospital, Thoubal.

The special event held at the Conference Hall of District Hospital Thoubal was organised by the Directorate of Health and Services Manipur and CMO Thoubal.

The event was attended by Directorate of Health Services, Manipur, Dr Chambo Golmei, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Thoubal, Dr Y Nokul Singh, Director of Family Welfare, Govt of Manipur, Dr N Hemantakumar Singh and Vital Statistics Manipur, Consultant, Dr Meena Seram as presidium members.

Addressing the gathering, Director Dr Chambo Golmei highlighted this groundbreaking initiative, geared towards enhancing the accessibility and coverage of Birth Registration through Aadhaar Enrolment.

This initiative aims to streamline birth registration for children in the age group of 0 to 5 years and will enable access to various Government benefits such as scholarship, subsidies and other welfare schemes.

Director of Family Welfare, Dr Hemantakumar Singh stated that the initiative would facilitate in addressing the challenges faced by the people related to birth registration.
