UG cadres arrested

Imphal, August 26 2026: As many as seven cadres belonging to different insurgent outfits have been arrested by security forces during the last 48 hours.

One RPF/PLA cadre identified as Ningthoujam Samson Singh (30) was arrested by Imphal East commandos from Ngaikhong Khunou, Bishnupur district on August 25 .

Another RPF/PLA cadre identified as Lourembam Subhaschandra alias Thouba alias Naochabi (46) s/o L Ibocha of Singjamei Chingamathak, Nameirakpam Leikai, Imphal West was arrested by police from his residence on August 25 .

The third RPF/PLA cadre identified as Ningombam Punshiba alias Nanao alias Selungba (30) s/o N Rajen of Tekcham Mayai Leikai was arrested by a combined team of Thoubal police and 46 AR from Langathel, Thoubal district on August 26, according to a press release issued by the Control Room, Manipur Police.

During a search operation carried out by a combined team of Chandel police and 10 AR around border pillar no 72, one PREPAK cadre was apprehended along with an INSAS rifle on August 25 .

The apprehended PREPAK cadre has been identified as Lemba Mutum (40) s/o Mani Mutum of Seijang village, Lamlai, Imphal East.

One SOREPA cadre identified as Laihaorungbam Sanatomba (48) alias Ashok alias Tayai s/o late L Ibohal of Kongpal Chingangbam Leikai was arrested by a team of Imphal West commandos from his residence today.

Samom Michael alias Achouba s/o late S Premjit of Moirang Ngangkhalawai Makha Leikai, an alleged cadre of KCP(PWG) was arrested by a team of Moirang police station and Bishnupur commandos on August 25 .

Another KCP(PWG) cadre identified as Sanglenmayum Sanjit alias Mani (38) of Terakhong Awang Leikai, Wangoo Ahanlup, Bishnupur district was arrested by a combined team of Thoubal district police and 31 AR from Thoubal Bazar today.
