Meitei, Tangkhul, Maring, Meitei Pangal women unite to condemn Tronglaobi, TM Kasom killings

Thoubal, April 25 2026: A large number of womenfolk belonging to the Meitei, Tangkhul, Maring and Meitei Pangal communities from Nongpok Sekmai and 26 surrounding villages gathered today to protest against the killing of children in the Tronglaobi bomb attack, death of three civilians in subsequent CRPF firing and ambush at TM Kasom that led to two fatalities.

Held at Nongpok Sekmai, the sit-in protest was organised by Apunba Nupi Khunai Lamjing Meira Lup-2, Thoubal.

The protesters wielded placards voicing their demands and dissent with messages such as "We condemn the killing of innocent civilians", "Eliminate Kuki terrorists from the soil of Manipur", "Punish the CRPF personnel behind civilian shooting", "Go back Central Security Forces", "We will protect Manipur's integrity", among others.

They also shouted many slogans demanding justice for the inhumane killings of civilians and children.

One meira paibi leader by the name Sanahanbi expressed grief and discontent over the Tronglaobi incident and the killing of two Tangkhul Naga men by Kuki terrorists.

The Central Security Forces who have been deployed to protect the lives and properties of the Manipuri people are abusing the public, she said.

She also expressed disdain for the present Government which "no longer allows people to speak freely and subjugates the public through its proxy war" .
