Imphal, January 23, 2012: In connection with the Election to the 10th Manipur Assembly, a poll preparation round up throughout the State is given.

CHURACHANDPUR: In view of maintaining law and order in the upcoming general Assembly election, a security meeting was held today at the office chamber of DC Churachandpur, who is also the DEO of the district.

The meeting was attended by SP, Churachandpur, and top officers from the Army, paramilitary, CRPF, BSF, AR, Mizoram Armed Police, and Assam Armed Police.

The meeting deliberately discussed on ways to maintain law and order in the upcoming Assembly election.

The meeting was also attended by Sector Magistrate, and DLOs.

SENAPATI: The second round of training for polling personnel of Karong, Mao and Tadubi Assembly Constituencies for the coming 10th Assembly election began today at Little Angels School, Senapati district headquarters.

Presiding Officers, Polling Officers No 1 and 2 and were given training.

Meanwhile, District Magistrate of Senapati district, PK Jha has today issued prohibition order under Section 144 CrPC within the district.

As per the order, carrying of lethal weapons, sticks, sickles, machetes and any other sharp objects which may be used as weapon or may cause grievous injury is prohibited with immediate effect till the election process is over.

BISHNUPUR: Randomisation of EVM has begun in Bishnupur district today at NIC Computer Room, Mini-Secretariat, Bishnupur district headquarters.

Third round training for polling personnel has also begun today at three places.

The training was held at Kiyamba Ningshing Shanglen, Girls' High School and Awang Primary School.

Out of 12 groups, six groups participated in today's training while the the rest will be imparted training on serial-wise later.

THOUBAL: DEO Thoubal has informed all the Sector Magistrates (Special Executive Magistrates) to report to the DEO on January 24 for a training on upcoming polls.

Meanwhile, photography training for Polling Officer No 3 in Thoubal district was conducted today at the Mini-Secretariat Hall, Thoubal.

CHANDEL: In an attempt to disseminate systemetic voters education and electoral participation, a street play was today staged at different places in Chandel district.

The street play was presented at Panchal, Mongsapantha, Japhou Bazar, Laikun, Liwasangei, Setu, Karong, Komlathabi, Pallel and Ngangsang.
