Imphal, October 22 2025: The Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Regional Office, Imphal, organised a one-day Special Outreach Programme (SOP) on Swachhata Hi Seva 2025 under the theme (Swabhav Swachhata-Sanskaar Swachhata) and "Ek Ped Maa ke Naam"atWaikhom Mani Girls' College, Thoubal on October 20 .

The programme was graced by Prof H Manoranjan Sharma, Principal, Waikhom Mani Girls' College, Thoubal as president; L Sanatombi, NSS Programme Officer Unit-1; and Sapam Hemanta Singh, Assistant Professors of the college as resource persons.

In his presidential speech, Prof H Manoranjan Sharma praised the campaign and highlighted the importance of planting tree saplings especially the fruit bearing trees which would not only benefit the future generation but also provide a clean environment.

During the interaction programme, the importance of community participation in maintaining sustained cleanliness was discussed along with Swachhata App which allows citizens to report problems like garbage, overflowing drains, and broken public toilets by submitting photos and their location for authorities to resolve the matter.

The event featured an on-the-spot quiz competition on Swachhata Hi Seva and Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam and prizes were distributed to the winners along with certificates.

As a part of the programme, fruit bearing saplings were also planted by the gatherings.
