MUSU conducts seminar on Manipuri Language

Imphal, October 22 2024: A National level seminar on the theme "A meticulous aspect of Manipuri Language, Literature, Culture and Society" was held at Earth Sciences Department of Manipur University in Canchipur today.

The seminar was organised by the Manipur University Students' Union (MUSU) .

School of Humanities Dean Prof S Imoba, All Assam Kang Association president Ch Kulabidhu Singha, Manipur Kang Association president M Jadhumani and MUSU president N Suraj attended the seminar as dignitaries.

At the seminar, Manipuri Department's Assistant Professor, Dr N Sanatomba underscored the importance of preserving and promoting Manipuri language, its literature and culture.

He encouraged youths, especially the younger generation to instill in them a sense of patriotism and love for Manipuri language, literature and culture.

Students focusing only on their school/college syllabi has narrowed their understanding of the society.

They should take keen interest in tracing the "footsteps of our forefathers" and preserving the language, literature and culture, he said.

As many as 10 resource persons presented papers during the seminar.
