CM inspects Wabagai Hr Sec School

Chief Minister Yumnam Khem-chand Singh today inaugurated the 'developmental works' of Wabagai Higher Secondary School in Kakching district under the Samagra Shiksha Manipur.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister recalled his visit to the school in May 2023 after visiting Sugnu town and said the institution had undergone significant changes and witnessed considerable im- provement since then.
Taking note of the high airfares between Imphal and Guwahati, Khemchand Singh said the resumption of public road transport services between the two cities would provide much-needed relief to people in the State, particularly students studying outside the State and those travelling for medical treatment.

Speaking about the adverse impact of the unprecedented crisis that began in May 2023, he said it had caused immense hardship to people across the State, particularly daily wage earners.
He added that, following the Government's continuous efforts to restore peace and normalcy, public transport services had resumed from yesterday.
The Chief Minister further informed that road strengthening works within the Wabagai Assembly Constituency had been completed within six months at an estimated cost of Rs 5 crore.
He added that a new proposal for further strengthening of roads at an estimated cost of around Rs 10 crore had been received and would be considered.
Delivering his presidential speech, Wabagai Assembly Constituency MLA Dr Usham Deben Singh stated that the development of the constituency had been hindered by the crisis, which had persisted for more than three years.
He announced that the construction of a bridge under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) would be completed soon under the guidance of the Chief Minister.
The Chief Minister also inspected the newly constructed facilities at the school.
With the addition of Physics, Chemistry and Biology laboratories, along with separate toilets for boys and girls, the school will provide students with improved facilities and a more conducive learning environment.
