Imphal, March 22 2026:
The Thadou Human Rights Advocacy (THRA) has urged the Government to declare the meeting between Chief Minister Y Khemchand and the 'unmandated' Kuki-Zo Council (KZC) in Guwahati as null and void.
In a statement, the Thadou group argued that the KZC is a proxy of the Kuki Inpi Manipur (KIM), which, in turn, is a proxy of the "unconstitutional and illegal Any Kuki Tribes (ST)" .
The THRA claimed that these entities are engaged in activities that are anti-Manipur, anti-Thadou, anti-Meitei, anti-Naga, and anti-Zomi at various levels.
It also urged the Government to disclose the records of the meeting held with the "unrepresented and unmandated KZC" .
Stop engaging with or appeasing a fake KZC for political gain and proxy dealings, the Thadou group further urged.
Appealing to the Government to strengthen policing and restore law and order in the hill districts on par with the valley districts by taking firm action against all anti-peace elements including Kuki armed militants, the THRA alleged that the Government's continued appeasement of the Kuki separatist subscribers and supremacists should be reconsidered to bring peace in the State.
It also said that "appeasing violent and unmandated proxy bodies like KZC will amount to proxy dealings, the consequence of which time will reveal" .
