Imphal, February 22 2025: Lieutenant Colonel Thingom Shanti Kumar Singh of Army Medical Corps has been approved for promotion to the rank of Colonel.

A resident of Khurai Nandeibam Leikai, Imphal East, Lieutenant Colonel Shanti Kumar is the son of Thingom Jayanta Kumar and Thingom Jamini Devi.

He is married to Thingom Anita Devi.

An alumnus of Tiny Tots School, Manipur Public School, he completed his MBBS from Gwalior Medical College in 2003 after clearing PMT with 12th rank in the State.

During his distinguished career, he has served in various challenging areas and important appointments including an assignment as a member of United Nations Peace Keeping Force in Congo, where he was awarded with Force Commanders Commendation Card twice.

Lieutenant Colonel Shanti Kumar is the first Army Doctor in the Admin Branch to be promoted to Colonel rank from the State.
