'Police Commemoration Day' observed across districts

Spt/Kak/Jiri/Tpl, October 21 2019: As part of paying tribute to fallen heroes of the country, the Senapati District Police observed 'Police Commemoration Day' at Reserve Line, Senapati in the presence of District Superintendent of Police and other Police officials.

While Sub Inspector Lunii Paotei, MTO, Senapati read out the names of Police personnel killed in line of duty during the period from September 1, 2018 to August 31, 2019, the District Police officers including the District Women Police and others laid wreaths and floral tributes at the commemoration Memorial Stone.

'Police Commemoration Day' observed across districts

Later, the Shock Parade Contingent with the District Police Officers gave the shock parade to the fallen heroes who lost their precious life for the country in the line of duty.

Mentioned may be made that Havaldar-23102, S Somi and Rifleman-132001296 Huidrom Modai Singh were killed while discharging their duties from Manipur out of 292 police personnel who lost their lives during the said period.

Kakching: Kakching District Police also organized 'Police Commemoration Day 2019' at the office of SP Kakching today.

Led by Victoria Yengkhom, SP Kakching, floral tributes and respect were paid to four police personnel from Kakching district who have lost their life while discharging duties including all those personnel who have sacrifice their life for their motherland.

The four police personnel from Kakching District who have lost their live in line of duty are Mayanglambam Chaoba, Deputy SP s/o M Roshoraj of Kakching Moirangthem Leikai; Hueiningshumbam Lukhoi, Rifleman s/o H Tomchou of Keirak Mamang Leikai; Naorem Kesho, Constable s/o N Achou of Kakching Mayai Leikai, Yaikhom Pareng and Sapam Rajkumar, Constable s/o S Nabakumar of Sugnu Mayai Leikai.

The family members of the four fallen heroes were honoured with modest gifts by District Police Kakching during the function.

Regarding the function, Victoria Yengkhom said that function was held to honour the exemplary valour shown by the brave soldiers and urged all to extend support to police.

Jiribam: Observing Police Commemoration day at Jiribam District, floral tributes and homage were paid to the three police martyrs of Jiribam who had made supreme sacrifice in the line of duty.

To honour the supreme sacrifice of the three brave police personnel, floral tribute and wreath were placed on their photographs.

The names of the police personnel who were remembered on the police commemoration day at Jiribam District Police station include (L) SI Yumnam Budhi Singh, (L) Rfn Ngangom Amuyaima Singh and (L) Rfn Thangjam Birjit Singh.

The ceremony was attended by all ranks police officials as well as distinguished civil society organisations members, local leaders.

SP, Jiribam District Mubi Moirangthem encouraged the police personnel of Jiribam District by remembering the supreme sacrifice of police in the line of duty.

Gifts were presented to the kins of the martyrs during the function.

Tengnoupal: As observed annually on October 21, Police Commemoration Day was also organized by Tengnoupal District Police at Tengnoupal District Headquarter to commemorate the police personnel killed in the firing by the chinese army in 1959.The commemoration function was attended by Superintendent of Police, Tengnoupal Th Vikramjit Singh; Additional Superintendent of Police (LO) Kh Robinsun; Sub-Divisional Police Officer L Meghabarna; OC Moreh Police Letkhohao Vaiphei; OC Tengnoupal Police John Lamkang and other police personnel and paid floral tributes and respect to fallen soldiers.
