MST to run free buses for Khongjom Day

Imphal, April 21 2026 :
The Manipur State Transport (MST) will run free bus services between Imphal and the Khongjom War Memorial Complex at Kheba Ching on April 23 for the Khongjom Day observance, the State Government announced today.
The service is for the public, Government employees, and media personnel, according to a press release.
MST will operate buses on six routes.
For public-
Two buses from' Public School, Koirengei via Thangmeiband.
Nagamapal, Wahengbam Leikai, Keishampat, Pishum Thong, Singjamei, Lilong, and Thoubal at 6.30 am.
One bus from DC Office, Porompat via Soibam Leikai, Andro Parking, Wangkhei, Kongba, Singjamei Thong, and Lilong at 6.30 am.
Two buses from Lamboikhongnangkhong via Tera, Sagolband, Kwakeithel, Pishum Thong Heirangoithong, Hiyangthang, Samurou, Wangoi, Mayang Imphal, Wabagai, and Kakching at 6.30 am.
Five buses from MST Complex, Moirangkhom via Singjamei between 6.00 am and 8.00 am at 30-minute intervals.
For Government employees-
Five buses from the eastern side of 1st MR Ground, Babupara between 6.00 am and 8.00 am at 30-minute intervals.
For media-
Two buses from DIPR Office, Keishampat at 6.30 am.
The Government has asked citizens, devotees, and employees to use the free service to attend the memorial ceremonies.
Khongjom Day is observed annually on April 23 to honour the soldiers who fought in the Anglo-Manipur War of 1891.The main function is held at Kheba Ching.
