Imphal, February 21:
For the first time in the valley of Manipur, a temple dedicated to Buddha was inaugurated at Meetei Langol, Wangdei today.
Constructed under the aegis of Buddhist Council, Manipur, the ceremonial function of inaugurating the temple conducted under the priestship of Buddhist monk Akshyananda Maha Thera, who is also the general secretary of Tripura Rajya Bikkhu Sangha.
His disciple Kodeinya was also present at the occasion.
Speaking at the occasion, Akshyananda stressed on the philosophy of Buddhism and its Dhamma to understand onself and live in peace.
