Training programme on mushroom cultivation held

United Committee Manipur (UCM), Awang Sekmai Unit successfully conducted a farmers' training programme on "Mushroom cultivation" at Advance Women Society Hall, Awang Sekmai Koujengleima, Imphal West district today.
The programme was graced' by UCM president, YK Dhiren and UCM Awang Sekmai Unit chairman, Ayangbam Suresh as the chief guest & president respectively.
Entrepreneur (food processing) T Sanajaoba and Temperate Mushroom proprietor Thiyam Dhaljit also attended the event as resource persons.
Speaking on the occasion, YK Dhiren said that the training programme .
was conducted with the objective to empower individuals with valuable skills to improve their quality of life, and help them become more self-reliant.
He also stressed on the need to produce sufficient quantities of agricultural products so that Manipur becomes a self reliant State and appealed to all the farmers to implement the methods suggested by the experts for better productivity.
He shared that due to favorable climatic conditions, profitability and potential of income generation, mushroom cultivation can be one of the highly suitable options for local entrepreneur development and employment generation.
Furthermore, YK Dhiren asserted that UCM will be conducting training programmes, workshops, seminars, etc at different places to promote work culture and help improve the socio-economic condition of the people.
About 60 people participated in the training programme.
