Imphal, September 18, 2010: Security forces have arrested six underground cadres from different locations.

Imphal West district police commandos arrested one PREPAK activist from Langol Housing Complex on September 16 namely, Thoudam Ingo Singh alias Mamton (40) s/o late Mangi of Khurai Chingangbam Leikai.

Further on the same day, the district police commandos rounded up two more PREPAK cadres from their respective houses.

The cadres have been identified as Khaidem Inaotomba Singh (45) s/o late Ingo of Khurai Konsam Leikai and s/s project nominee Okram Tolen alias Ashok (31) s/o late Ibotombi of Bashikhong Bazar.

Again on the same day, the district police commandos netted two KYKL activists from near PCTC Oil station, Khoyathong.

The individuals have been identified as Thangjam Anil alias Thoithoi alias James (21) s/o Sarat of Thangmeiband Sinam Leikai and Chongtham Dev alias Devchand alias Tomba (29) s/o Chourjit Singh of Thambalkhong Mamang Leikai.

On spot verification, Anil disclosed that he got basic military training in April 2007 under 25th batch and working under the command of s/s 2nd Lt Khaba, said a press release issued by Imphal West Senior SP.

A combined team of Thoubal district police commandos and troops of 21 Assam Rifles arrested one KYKL activist from Kakching Khunou Lamkhai on September 15. The activist has been identified as Khumukcham Romesh Singh (31) s/o Biramangol of Kakching Khunou Umathel Bazar.

One 9 mm pistol loaded with three live rounds in the magazine was seized from him, said a press release.

Imphal East district police commandos arrested two KCP (Lalumba) cadres from Brahmapur Leikai on September 16. The cadres have been identified as Khumanthem Abungbi alias Jameson (23) s/o late Ibotombi of Bashikhong Mamang Leikai and Nameirakpam Somes Singh (24) s/o late Tomba of the same locality.

Troops of 15 Assam Rifles arrested one PULF cadre from Khoirom at around 4 am today.

The cadre has been identified as Md Sheik Sadik alias Sukur alias KK (36) s/o late Md Abdul Barik of Yairipok Haidropokpi.

In another incident, 12 Maratha Light Infantry of 9 Sector under Hqs IGAR (S) arrested another PULF man from Bengun today.

A press release issued by PRO Hqs IGAR (S) identified the cadre as Md Nasib Ali (60) s/o late Md Naziruddin of Mayang Imphal Bengun.
