Peoples' Museum Kakching celebrates 44th Foundation Day

Kakching, January 18 2025: The 44th Foundation Day of Peoples' Museum Kakching was held today at its museum office located at Kakching Panji Leikai.

The museum was inaugurated in 1981 under the vision and effort of Mayanglambam Gourachandra to collect and preserve ancient antiques, craft, artistic and cultural significance of various indigenous communities of the State.

The event was attended by Angom Ningthou Sana Konung Uttra Shanglen, Angom Poireiton as chief guest, ex-MLA Kakching Assembly Constituency, Y Surchandra Singh as president and chairperson, Kakching Municipal Council, N Sanjitkumar as guest of honour.

Speaking at the occasion, Angom Poireiton, stated that the ancient coins and various ancient equipment and antiques in the museum prove the advancement of Manipur society in those days.

Assuring that all possible support will be extended from his side, he urged the people to promote and preserve the museum.
