MU hosts workshop on 'Leadership Development'

Imphal, October 16 2025: A 3-Day National Workshop on "Leadership Development for Deans of Faculty, Heads of Department and Senior Faculties of Universities in North Eastern Region, India" kicked off today at the VC Court Hall of Manipur University (MU), Imphal.

The workshop was organised by the National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration (NIEPA), New Delhi, in collaboration with the Research and Development Cell, MU and Manipur Institute of Management Studies, MU.

The inaugural function was graced by dignitaries, including Prof N Lokendra Singh, Vice Chancellor, MU; Prof Shashikala Wanjari, Vice Chancellor, NIEPA; Prof Prabhakar Laishram, Director.

MIMS; and Prof Aarti Srivastava, Head, DHPE.

Prof Ch Ibohal Meitei, Director, Research and Development Cell, MU and Dr Sangeeta Angom, Programme Coordinator, NIEPA were also present at the event.

Speakers on the occasion dwelt on the need for a collective effort to improve education quality and promote inclusive learning which are crucial for the development of a society.

They also asserted that such workshops are crucial for enhancing leadership skills, strengthening collaboration between departments, and improving the overall academic administration in universities.

The workshop featured interactive sessions and panel discussions led by NIEPA faculty and resource persons from universities across the North Eastern Region.
