NIA team visits Koutruk

Imphal, October 16 2024: The National Investigation Agency (NIA), State police and Forensic Science team conducted a field visit at Koutruk today investigating the September 1 aerial bombing.

Sources said the field visit was conducted by the NIA following a direction from the Union Ministry of Home Affairs.

It may be noted that Koutruk came under heavy attack from Kuki militants on September 1 .

While advanced drones were reportedly used to drop bombs on the day, sniper killed a woman identified as Ngangbam Surbala (35) of Phayeng and injured her minor daughter.

The Kuki militants' attack also injured several other people including personnel of the security forces.
