UNC raises FMR issue to Governor

Imphal, August 16 2025: A delegation of the United Naga Council (UNC) called on Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla at the Raj Bhavan here today.

During the meeting, the delegation shared their views and concerns on matters related to the Free Movement Regime (FMR) and border fencing, and requested the Governor to take up the matter with the Government of India.

The Governor gave a patient hearing to the delegation and informed them that the matter has already been taken up with the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Ajay Kumar Bhalla also appealed to the UNC members to maintain peace and restraint while constructive dialogue continues, according to a press release issued by the Governor's Secretariat.
