Irabot Foundation Manipur celebrates 30th Foundation Day

Imphal, June 16 2026: The 30th Foundation Day of Irabot Foundation Manipur was observed today at Manipur Press Club, Majorkhul.

Irabot Foundation president Khunjamayum Gopen Luwang, Editors' Guild, Manipur (EGM) president Khogendra Khomdram, and Maipak Ningthou Committee convenor Arshad Baseimayum attended as presidium members.

Addressing the gathering, Khogendra Khomdram urged people to abandon the notion that farming is a lowly occupation.

"Take pride in your work and perform it with dignity.

Farmers feed society irrespective of class or community.

If farmers abandon their fields, there will be no food", he said.

Noting that Manipur is feeing food insecurity due to the loss of cultivable land, he called on everyone, especially farmers, to take greater responsibility to overcome the situation.

He also lauded Irabot Foundation's 30-year-long efforts in working hand-in-hand with farmers.

As part of the event, HYV paddy seeds and agricultural equipment were distributed to farmers from five districts.
